Dr. Kerstin Stachel

Dr. Kerstin Stachel is a seasoned healthcare executive, advisor, and author with over 20 years of experience in leading complex transformation processes in universityhospitals. Her core expertise lies in procurement and HR strategy, organizational culture, and leadership development in the healthcare sector.

She studied Economics and Business Administration at the University of Tübingen and the University of Cologne, graduating as Diplom-Kauffrau in 2001. She earned her PhD at the Centre for Hospital Management (Centrum für Krankenhausmanagement) in Münster under Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dr. Wilfried von Eiff, focusing on personnel management and hospital marketing.

Her professional experience includes:

• Head of Procurement, Logistics (including the hospitalpharmacy) and later HR at University Hospital Bonn, where she initiated service-oriented structures, advanceddigital processes, and successfully helped bring thehospital back to profitability in 2015
• Executive Board Member and Commercial Director at University Hospital Magdeburg (2015–2023), drivingcomprehensive change programs across all areas and working closely with regional and national stakeholders
• Early-career positions in economic policy (Ministry ofEconomic Affairs, Baden-Württemberg) and healthcareresearch, with a focus on workforce development and hospital strategy

Since 2023, she has been working independently withhospitals and healthcare leaders to drive transformation, unlock cultural potential, and empower leadership teams toshape the future of care delivery.
